| 29 May 2008 | Paltrow, Hopkins and Knightley to star in "King Lear" |
It looks to me like the last time Shakespeare's "King Lear" was adapted into a film it was back in 1999 with Brian Blessed playing the title role. IMDB shows the King making his way into a feature film approximately 20 times and it looks like 21 is in order as Anthony Hopkins will play the title role with Keira Knightley starring as his daughter Cordelia and Gwyneth Paltrow as Regan, Lear's treacherous middle daughter. The news comes from the UK's Telegraph citing the film was announced at the Cannes Film Festival and will be made on a budget of $35 million and will feature epic battle sequences, according to its makers.
As the "Telegraph" points out Lear is also making his way to the UK's Channel 4 this Christmas, based on the recent and highly acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company production starring Sir Ian McKellen as Lear and Romola Garai as Cordelia. McKellen stars along with Romola Garai as Cordelia.
"King Lear" tells the story of Lear, the aging king of Britain, who is stepping down from his thrown and will divide his kingdom among his three daughters; Goneril, Regan and Cordelia. He tests his daughters asking them to put their love for him into words and while Goneril and Regan give flattering answers, Cordelia says nothing giving reason that words cannot describe how much she loves her father. Despite being Lear's favorite daughter, he is outraged and Cordelia is banished. Cordelia ultimately marries the king of France despite the fact that she brings with her no land, which is when Lear realizes his tragic mistake, but it just might be too late.

| 04 May 2008 | Paltrow Film to Compete in Cannes; De Niro to Present Top Award |

April 30 (Bloomberg) -- ``Two Lovers,'' starring Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow and directed by James Gray, will be one of three additional movies competing in this year's Cannes Film Festival, the organizers said.
The festival will open on May 14 with ``Blindness,'' also in competition, by Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles, who made ``The Constant Gardener.'' ``Blindness'' stars Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Danny Glover and Gael Garcia Bernal, organizers said in an e-mailed press release.
Including the three new titles entering the race, 22 films will vie for the top award, the Palme d'Or, to be handed out this year by actor Robert De Niro. De Niro will be in Cannes because the film he plays in -- Barry Levinson's ``What Just Happened?'' with Bruce Willis, John Turturro, and Sean Penn -- will close the festival on May 25.

| 04 May 2008 | Paltrow explains why she did ‘Iron Man’ |
LOS ANGELES - They’ve opened the movie around the world and now the stars of “Iron Man” are gearing up for the film’s US release, this Friday.
The summer’s first potential blockbuster stars Robert Downey Jr. as the Iron Man, and drama-film darling Gwyneth Paltrow as his love interest, Christine Everhart. Taking on the role puts Paltrow in some illustrious company Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Kirsten Dunst and Kate Bosworth, all of whom have played superhero leading ladies.
While the part is something new for Paltrow, she was convinced to take it on after her leading man suggested she break out of the art film market.
”(Robert) was very sweet when he called me, and I think we had both kind of been doing these kind of labor of love art films that had been seen by like 16 people, and he said to me ‘Don’t you wanna be in a movie that people actually see?’” Paltrow recounted. “And I thought ‘I never thought of that!’ So, I’m really, really glad that I did it.”
Thanks to the joys Paltrow experienced making the film and the enthusiasm already surrounding it, she is looking forward to, perhaps, a sequel.
“I [am] so happy people are loving it, and getting so excited about it, but the truth is that the experience was so wonderful, and such a happy, happy time. That’s really why I’m so happy that I did it,” she said. “The idea that there could be another one, and we could get our little family back together it would be great.”
Another thing Paltrow is excited over is Hollywood employing herself, Liv Tyler and Maggie Gylenhaal in this summer’s biggest action films “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “Batman: The Dark Knight,” respectively.
“What’s nice is that the three of us are, not to say other people aren’t, but we’re really committed to our work as actors,” Paltrow said. “I think we’ve all come from a lot of independent cinema, we come from a kind of different world. I think it’s very cool that we’re being embraced by mainstream Hollywood in that way because they could easily cast 18-year-old girls, who are more attractive, and had lovelier busts than us. I think it says a lot for the movies that they wanted women who are interesting, and who are from more kind of the more independent world.”

| 04 May 2008 | Gwyneth Paltrow Denies Snubbing Her Own Party |
It had been reported that Gwyneth Paltrow decided not to show up to a party that was being thrown in her honor. The actress has now slammed the report, claiming she was never going to the party in the first place.
The party was being thrown by Paramount Pictures in appreciation of the help Paltrow has given to promoting Iron Man. Cocoon in London was the location of the party, and the studio spared no expense.
Thirty of the actresses closest friends and family were invited to the party, including her in laws, Anthony and Allison Martin. They
are the parents of Paltrow's husband, Chris Martin, from the band Coldplay.
Instead of attending the affair, Paltrow and Martin went and had a bite to eat with Iron Man co-star, Robert Downey Jr.
In response to the reports of her snubbing the party, a spokesperson for Paltrow said, "Gwyneth was never meant to attend the after party. She was at a taping of the Jonathan Rose show (a British talk show) which ran late and then she went home to be with her children. Everyone was told weeks ago that she would not be attending."

| 19 Apr 2008 | Paltrow Suffered From Post-Partum |
Gwyneth Paltrow's life may seem peachy keen to the outside world, but things aren't always as they seem.
The mother of two is opening up about her postpartum depression after giving birth to her second child Moses back in 2006.
“You know, I had postnatal depression after Moses," Paltrow says in the new issue of Vogue. “I didn’t know I had it until after it was over. I just didn’t know what was wrong with me...I felt really out of my body. I felt really disconnected. I felt really down; I felt pessimistic.”
Luckily, the depression is behind her and she's back to being on top of her game. Expect to see a lot of her in the upcoming month since she'll be doing promos for Iron Man.

| 19 Apr 2008 | Gwyneth Paltrow doesnt want more kids, for now |
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow hates being pregnant so much so, that she has ruled out any plans of an addition to her brood.
The 35-year-old actress claims to have had too much from mothering two children by rocker husband Chris Martin - daughter Apple, 3, and son Moses, 1 - that she cannot even think about having another baby.
“Please no! There are no plans for any more. I mean, I wouldn’t rule it out for later but it’s hard to be a mother. It’s years of not sleeping, it’s years of putting people ahead of yourself, or at least it should be. Some days you feel exhausted, like today. I’m a wreck, Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
She added: “Also, being pregnant is hard. Some women love it - I feel terrible from start to finish. So sick in the beginning and in such a bad mood. If one could just appear, maybe I’d consider having another child sooner.”
However, she has not completely denied the idea of her and the Coldplay frontman adopting a baby.
“If somebody asked me at a party, hypothetically, I’d say sure, why not. But I’m not on a list or anything. You know how those weekly magazines sensationalise everything. It’s not something we have even begun to think about, she said. (ANI)

| 19 Apr 2008 | Gwyneth Paltrow on son Moses’ 2nd birthday party |
Gwyneth Paltrow was double booked when it came to events on Tuesday night - as well as attending the Breast Cancer Foundation’s annual Pink Party gala in New York, she had to host son Moses’ second birthday party.
Speaking at the charity event at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel, she told People magazine: “It’s so exciting. We had a little birthday party at 5pm - a little dinner for all of his New York friends.”
The celebration took place at a nearby Mexican restaurant because “he loves guacamole” but he didn’t get to open many presents at the shindig: “His daddy is in London. So we’re going to do presents when we can all be together.”
The Shakespeare in Love actress added that her little boy is “not so little any more”: “He doesn’t like a stroller anymore, he doesn’t like a highchair. He likes his independence.”

The Shakespeare in Love star has been named ambassador for the Save The Children charity. Over the next three years, she will play an active role in helping to reduce the number of kids dying from preventable diseases around the world.
The philanthropic star dedicates a lot of her time to charity, and already serves on the board of the Robin Hood Foundation, which helps to reduce poverty in New York.
The notoriously private Gwyneth, who has two children, Apple, 3, and Moses, 1 1/2, with husband Chris Martin, has spoken publically about wanting to put her film career on hold in order to focus more on her family in the future.
Before she can do that, however, the actress will embark on a large-scale promotional tour for Iron Man, the highly anticipated film based on the Marvel Comics character. Paltrow also stars in Two Lovers with Joaquin Phoenix, also set for release later this year.

| 09 Mar 2008 | The rules of attraction |
There is talk that the most environmentally aware marriage in showbiz may be showing signs of strain. The usual reasons have been trotted out: Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are not often in the same country. She’s doing parties, he isn’t. But none of this would be worrying if it weren’t for the huge and highly visible incompatibility at the heart of their union. She’s a bow-at-the-neck designer dress, poker-straight hair and lipstick sort of woman. He’s an unshaven, combats-and-anorak man in a faded fair-trade T-shirt. (Gwyneth has done combats, but with a Clements Ribeiro top. When she does scruffy, it’s a bit like Hillary Clinton doing cosy: the effort involved makes everyone feel tense.) So, Gwyneth and Chris are style opposites. It doesn’t sound like a big deal. You’re probably thinking, “Pfff, so what?” But style is quite a reliable indicator of what you value in life. (Which is why it is okay to dislike, on sight, women who carry Botoxed python bags and men who wear striped shirts with white collars.)
Gwynnie is American Wasp aristocracy: poised, naturally blonde, used to rubbing shoulders with the Establishment, the sort of girl that Ralph Lauren drools at the thought of dressing (and did dress, memorably, in princess pink for her Oscar win). Chris, on the other hand, is a down-to-earth bloke: the type who eats with the crew, writes everything he needs to remember on his hand and gets bike-chain grease on his tracksuit bottoms. Do you see where this is going? Gwynnie and Chris don’t just look different they may be looking for different things as well. There is a bit of Gwyneth that wants ozone-no-object glamour, shallow company and lots of attention (you never get over that stuff). Meanwhile, Chris wants to build a tree house for the kids, then have a barbecue (more of a fire between bricks) and ask his mum and dad and the neighbours to come. Seriously. You can tell. Just from the clothes. Gwynnie could ride a bicycle round London, but it isn’t really her. Chris could spend August on Tom Ford’s yacht, but it isn’t really him. They are not a natural fit. Those who do share a similar aesthetic tend to stand a better chance. Every time they look at each other, they think, “Mmm, me”, as opposed to, “Eeeuw, so not me”. Look at Brad and Angelina: with all that designer utility wear and tattoos, they’re like a walking DKNY ad. Jen was always such a steady girl next door in her figure-complimenting tops and butt-hugging jeans it couldn’t have lasted. Mick Jagger and L’Wren Scott are another meant-to-be style couple controlled, sleek with a twist Jerry’s look was just too . . . needy. Anyway, here’s hoping it’s something that a stylist, if not Relate, can sort out.

| 08 Mar 2008 | For her husband's eyes only: Gwyneth has a cheeky 'C' tattoo |
Clean-cut actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who has eschewed extravagant Hollywood lifestyles to become a rather sensible North London mother-of-two, has at last revealed a naughty streak. She has acquired a rather cheekily-placed tattoo. The Hollywood star had a tiny "C" etched at the top of her right thigh in London department store Selfridges last week. It may not be a match for Amy Winehouse's brash topless lady on her arm, but for thoughtful Gwyneth even this discreet gesture is a huge step, and a meaningful one. The C is said to be an expression of love for her musician husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and has eased concerns that their relationship was in trouble. The pair have barely been seen together in recent months, with their friends blaming work commitments and Martin's latest album. Gwyneth paid £60 for the discreet artwork, after tattooist Steve Flannery spent 20 minutes creating the design for the "nervous" actress. He said: "At first she was thinking about having a tattoo on her arm, but then decided that this might affect her acting work. "In the end she decided on the top of her right thigh, and joked that Chris would have fun finding it. "I asked her if the C stood for Coldplay, but she said it was definitely a C for Chris. "Compared to some designs I do, this was discreet and subtle, to say the least."

Yes, the gallery is back. It is not perfet yet, though. I have still solve a few issue, but at least you can visit it again. | 27 Feb 2008 | Gwyneth Paltrow has filmed a public service announcement for UNICEF |
Gwyneth Paltrow has filmed a public service announcement for UNICEF to help raise money to prevent children being born with the HIV virus.
Paltrow's video clip was launched online Wednesday.
The actress agreed to take part in the PSA after being approached by pal Jemima Khan ex-girlfriend of Hugh Grant who is urging world leaders to honor their 2007 pledge for AIDS funding that would allow all pregnant women with HIV to receive treatment and care to ensure that their babies are born free from the virus.
"I asked Gwyneth if she would agree to do the voiceover for the film as she is a mother with a global profile who I know is a supporter of UNICEF," Khan tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Paltrow, 35, narrates the four-minute dramatization of a poem by Simon Armitage that deals with the unwanted "gift" of mothers passing on the virus to their unborn children.
"According to UNICEF, a baby is born with HIV almost every minute of every day somewhere in the world. The virus is passed from mother to child during the birth or pregnancy," said Paltrow in a statement released during the film launch. "I have just found out that this can be prevented for less than $2 yet very few women in the poorer countries of the world can get the medicine they need to ensure their baby is born free from HIV. I hope that this new short film will raise awareness and funds about this issue and UNICEF will be able to reach every woman with the vital care and medicines they need."

| 23 Feb 2008 | Gwyneth paid tribute to her husband’s music-Coldplay 'Sends Kids to Sleep' |
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed what many non-Coldplay fans have often suspected her husband’s music sends people to sleep. But far from being a dig at Chris Martin, her revelation was a tribute to his hands-on parenting skills. Gwyneth said the singer’s biggest fans are their children daughter Apple, aged three, and son Moses, nearly two. And the Coldplay frontman can often be found singing as he puts them to bed. “He sings lullabies all the time. He’ll sing funny joke songs. They love his music,” she said. |

| 18 Feb 2008 | The Girls of Summer: Gwyneth Paltrow, Liv Tyler and Maggie Gyllenhaal |
It was a rainy and cold Valentine's week here on the East Coast but we were already thinking summer movies. In fact, we've already done a fun photo shoot with three of the big-name actresses you'll see in the sure-to-be blockbuster summer fare: Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Batman: The Dark Knight) and Liv Tyler (The Incredible Hulk). These three talented women and young mothers gathered in New York and our deputy photo editor Sarah Claxton was there to make sure the day went smoothly. That's not as easy as it sounds, considering there's a walk-in closet full of designer clothes, a stylist, photographer assistants, hair and makeup people, catering and...well, you get the picture.
Sarah's day began with an ice storm in Washington, D.C. and rain in NYC but as she tells it, "Luckily, I had stolen my roomate's umbrella in the rush out the door at 6 a.m. so my hair didn't suffer the effects of the torrential downpour. You want to look your best when standing in a room with three gorgeous women. I won't even tell you how long it took me to decide what to wear."
The shoot took place at a large studio in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan and Sarah, with photo editor David Baratz, began by reviewing wardrobe options - a task Sarah says "will make any girl dream of being a stylist. We had a walk-in closet and racks and racks of the most beautiful designer dresses." The stylist had narrowed down choices to the ladies' favorites. David, photographer E.J. Camp and Sarah were able to choose a couple different outfits in a purple palette. "They really complimented each other and each of the girls not that it's difficult for them to look amazing." Each of the very tall stars had her own hair and makeup person so it didn't take too long to get them all looking even more perfect. "They looked fantastic in their dresses and two were wearing heels," says our petite 5-feet-2-inch Sarah. "For me it was like staring at giants."
For the first set-up there was upbeat music (but, no, no Coldplay or Aerosmith.) Says Sarah: "It was high energy and super fun. We were on that set for about half an hour, then we had a quick wardrobe change into more beautiful dresses but same color scheme and went to the next set. This was a little more relaxed. We listened to some Aimee Mann and some acoustic covers. It felt really intimate and comfortable, a great ambience."
Given all the people and the tasks at hand, the ladies seemed really comfortable, says Sarah. "They really seemed like old friends, so sweet and a lot of fun."

| 11 Feb 2008 | Gwyneth Paltrow considering adopting a baby from Brooklyn |
Gwyneth Paltrow has again said she is considering adopting a child with husband Chris Martin. The Shakespeare in Love actress said she is open to the idea - but she said that rather than take in a child from a developing nation, she’d rather adopt closer to her home in New York. “We might get one from Brooklyn,” she said.“No baby is more helpless than another baby.“And I’m a New York girl.” At a benefit last week - hosted by pal Madonna to raise awareness of troubles in Malawi, she said: “People who have a lot also often feel like they have a lot to give. I have a good friend who always says that if you’re a person of means at all, then you have to adopt because there are so many kids in the world who need homes.” Madonna adopted a toddler, David Banda, from Malawi in October 2006. Paltrow, 35, has previously told how Coldplay rocker Martin, 30, is keen on the idea. She told W magazine: “My husband wants to adopt. So I don’t know. I’m sort of open for anything.” The celebrity couple already has two children - three-year-old daughter Apple and 22-months-old son, Moses. But she wouldn’t reveal what saw her rushed into a New York hospital last month. She told a US newspaper: “I feel great. “People made a big deal out of nothing.” Celebrity chef pal Mario Batali blamed the trip on stomach problems - while others speculated Paltrow was pregnant.

| 10 Feb 2008 | Gwyneth Paltrow Practicing the Faith Kabbalah |
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow who is reportedly pregnant with her third child is said to have returned to her pal Madonna's Kabbalah faith. The rumours started after Paltrow was seen leaving the Kabbalah Centre in New York almost two weeks ago after spending an hour inside. It seems, according to what a source told America's Life and Style magazine, Paltrow has turned to the Jewish faith for answers after a tough 2007. "Gwyneth just decided it was time to experience it (Kabbalah)... Gwyneth's a seeker; she's just looking into Kabbalah. She's exploring her beliefs," a pal of hers told the publication. Unconfirmed pregnancy reports spread last month after Paltrow and her husband, rocker Chris Martin, were spotted trying to sneak out of Mount Sinai Medical Centre in New York. Other reports suggest the actress may have undergone minor surgery. Her publicists have refused to address the matter. Just recently, Gwyneth was spotted taking both her children to the same centre in New York on Saturday Febuary 9, 2008.

| 08 Feb 2008 | Gwyneth Next to Adopt? |
Has Gwyneth Paltrow caught the celebrity baby-adoption bug? She says it's something she wouldn't rule out. "People who have a lot also often feel like they have a lot to give," said Paltrow, who wore a custom-made short bubblegum pink Gucci dress at Madonna and Gucci's "A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF" party Wednesday night at the United Nations. "I have a good friend who always says that if you're a person of means at all," she continued, "then you have to adopt because there are so many kids in the world who need homes." Could Paltrow have been referring to the Fashion Week party's material hostess, who's trying to adopt a boy from Malawi?

| 06 Feb 2008 | Rumor: Gwyneth Paltrow May Be Expecting Her Third Child |
New sources are reporting that Gwyneth's people are trying to rearrange her schedule through the spring, including shortening her shooting days and reworking her planned trip with Mario on their food tour to lighten her load given her commitments prior to the Iron Man release … because she’s expecting her third! Apparently the evening at Caroline’s Comedy Club that was reported just before she was admitted to an emergency hospital visit was actually a celebration of sorts she, Chris, and mom Blythe were toasting over champagne. The same new sources indicate that she's due mid-summer and that this go-round was unexpected and has been difficult. The possible pregnancy annoucement is still unconfirmed!

| 03 Feb 2008 | Gwyneth Paltrow will read at Madonna's Second Wedding to Guy Ritchie |
Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie are to renew their wedding vows this summer to show their marriage is rock solid.
The pair will hold the private ceremony at their Wiltshire home with Maddy’s daughter Loudres, 11, and pal Gwyneth Paltrow giving readings.
According to sources, fashion designer Stella McCartney, who will attend, has designed the singers wedding outfit, which will be a cream trouser suit.
The couple hope the renewal of the wedding vows will finally put paid to rumours their marriage is on the rocks following Madonna’s adoption of David Banda in 2006.
A source tells the News Of The World, “Renewing their vows is the one way Guy and Madonna can show the world they are strong.
"They've worked hard to iron out their differences to get through the tough times. They know a strong marriage takes constant effort and that they're in it for the long haul."
"It's going to be a very emotional day and that's why they want the people who are closest to them to share it with them.”

| 25 Jan 2008 | The past Few months have been tough for Gwyneth Paltrow |
The past few months have been tough for Gwyneth Paltrow. Rumours of her marriage being on the rocks, her comeback film The Good Night taking just Β£90,000 at the box office, and now a late-night dash to the hospital pushed in a wheelchair by her husband Chris Martin. Gwyneth was seen "slumped over" in the chair as Martin took her into New York's Mount Sinai Medical Centre last week, but she stayed there for less than 24 hours and is now recovering at her home in the city, complete with ready meals provided by her favourite macrobiotic store. Ironically, her health difficulty - which cannot be divulged for privacy reasons - has meant that, for the first time in a long while, she finally has the undivided attention of her British pop star husband. |

| 16 Jan 2008 | Gwnyneth Paltrow Rushed To Hospital Because Of A Pregnancy Scare |
Gwnyneth Paltrow was rushed to hospital because of a pregnancy scare, it was reported today. Witnesses said the Shakespeare in Love actress was seen entering the maternity wing of a New York hospital. It had earlier been reported that she was pushed into the Mount Sinai Hospital casualty department in a wheelchair pushed by her Coldplay rocker husband, Chris Martin. But today, reports in the US speculated that Paltrow, 35, may in fact be pregnant after she was seen entering the medical facility’s Klingenstein Pavilion. The New York Daily News reported: “Did a pregnancy complication put Gwyneth Paltrow in the hospital? An onlooker told the newspaper: “They looked very serious. “She looked upset. They went right past everyone and into the elevator. It seemed like they were expected.” Other observers said Paltrow looked “ill” and was “slumped” in the chair. Paltrow reportedly registered in the hospital on Monday afternoon under her married name, Gwyneth Martin - and was kept in overnight. She was said to be back at her Manhattan home on Tuesday. It has also been speculated that Paltrow’s hectic work schedule, combined with the demands of being a mother of two, was behind the mystery health problem. The Oscar-winning star recently finished filming the sci-fi action movie Iron Man, for which she lost weight and completed a tough fitness programme. And last year she underwent knee surgery. Her spokesman, Stephen Huvane, told the New York Daily News speculation about a troubled pregnancy was “guesswork at best”. He added: “This is a private matter not for public consumption. She’s fine.” Last August, Paltrow told an interviewer she and Martin wanted to expand their family, which now has daughter Apple, three, and son Moses, one. While Martin, 30, wanted to adopt, she said she was open to having “two [babies] in a row, really quick again.” Rumours of a rift between the couple have been strenusouly denied in recent months. Meanwhile, it was also rumoured that a FAST may have landed the actress in hospital. A bag from health store Organic Avenue was delivered to her room on Monday evening, according to reports. An insider told New York magazine: “She’s doing our five-day live-food fast. “She’s eating salads, there’s juices. There’s actually quite a bit of food there, it’s just all raw and organic.”
